How much does the Pixlr for Education program cost?
As long as you are a student or an educator or working for an educational-related NGO, we have made Pixlr for Education (PixlrEdu) Program completely free of charge.

Who is eligible to apply for Pixlr for Education?
The Pixlr for Education (PixlrEdu) Program is FREE for enrolled students or educators/teachers working at a qualified educational institution and members of eligible educational-related NGOs.
For enrolled students: Note that students below 13 years old will require a teacher or parent to sign up for a Pixlr account. We would prefer you to reach out to your teacher, supervisor or school administrator and get them to apply and join the Pixlr for Education program on your behalf.
For educators/teachers: This program requires an individual who is an employee or independent contractor working for a Qualified Educational Institution and whose primary role is teaching its enrolled students. We only need one representative per institution to sign up for the program.
What we mean by a Qualified Educational Institution: a public or private primary or secondary school that has been accredited by an authorized governmental agency within its applicable local, state, provincial, federal, or national government and has the primary purpose of teaching its enrolled students.
For members of eligible educational-related NGOs: This program requires an individual who is an employee or a member working for a Qualified Educational-related NGOs. We only need one representative per NGO to sign up for the program.
<strong>What’s the difference between “Applying as a student” & “Applying as an educator”? Should my students fill up the program application form individually?</strong>
While we prefer educators to sign up their school so everyone within that institution would be granted effectively, we receive requests from individual students who have been actively using Pixlr and would like to join the PixlrEdu program, hence we are also offering application for individual students whose school has yet to apply for the program.
If you as an educator/ teacher have applied for the PixlrEdu program, we don’t need your students to fill up the application form. We only need one representative per school to apply for the PixlrEdu program. Your students would only need to create a regular free account on Pixlr.com using the school domain.
<strong>How is the process to be enrolled in the PixlrEdu Program?</strong>
After filling up the form, we would upgrade any accounts registered in our system under your school domains & every account with that domain can enjoy the PixlrEdu subscription right away.
Kindly ask your students/ fellow teachers to create a regular free account on Pixlr.com, so the PixlrEdu upgrade can automatically be granted to their accounts.
Please note that the upgrade can only be given if a user has created the regular free account on Pixlr.com.
<strong>Do you require every individual’s student ID?</strong>
We require a student ID if a single student applies for the PixlrEdu program individually, without any teacher from their school applying for the program.
However, if a teacher has registered for the school, we only require the teacher’s ID as the school representative to prove their association with the school. In such a case, a student ID is not required.
<strong>Do you accept bulk applications to the program?</strong>
Yes, if you sign up as an educator, the granting process is a bulk upgrade. We will register your school domain(s) in our system and the system would automatically upgrade every account under the domain(s) on a daily basis.
Please ensure that the student or teacher registers a regular account with Pixlr.com first, so the PixlrEdu upgrade can be granted to that respective account.
<strong>Do you require every individual’s student ID?</strong>
We require a student ID if a single student applies for the PixlrEdu program individually, without any teacher from their school applying for the program.

<strong>What applicable age group would suit PixlrEdu Program?</strong>
We encourage Primary school right up to Postgraduate students who are keen to make use of Pixlr as a design and photo editing tool!
For students who are below 13 years old we allow teachers and/or school administrators to give consent instead of parent(s) or legal guardian(s) to register the students in this program.
<strong>Do I have to install Pixlr on my device?</strong>
No, you don’t have to! This is because Pixlr is a web-based, online photo editing tool. Meaning, you can access Pixlr anywhere in your PC, ChromeBook, Macbook, laptop or even tablet device browser, as long as you have a compatible web browser (Chrome, FireFox, Safari) and access to the internet.
<strong>Can I use Pixlr on mobile phones?</strong>
Yes, Pixlr Mobile would load on your mobile phone. However, for optimum editing experience, we recommend using Pixlr on PC, Chromebook, Macbook, laptop or a tablet device.
<strong>How to not lose my artwork projects on Pixlr?</strong>
Pixlr stores your projects and artwork in the browser you are using.
Therefore, when you use a different browser or go into incognito mode, your artworks won’t appear but it’s not lost.
You can simply access Pixlr from your previous browser to access your projects.
However, all artworks will be lost once you clear your browser cache.
We would recommend you to download your artworks once you have finished editing or download a PXD file so you can still work on it later on a different device or browser.
<strong>I have been using the free version of Pixlr, will I lose my artworks if I upgrade to the premium/ PixlrEdu version?</strong>
You will not lose your existing artworks by upgrading your Pixlr subscription plan.
However, any artworks will be lost once you clear your browser cache.
We would recommend you to download your artworks once you have finished editing or save them into a PXD file for editing later on another browser or device.
<strong>My school has multiple domains/ My school has different domains for teachers and students, can I register more than one domain?</strong>
Yes, there is no maximum limit of how many domains can be granted. We can grant as many domains as your school has.
Don’t forget to declare every domain in the application form.
<strong>If I am involved at multiple schools, can I register more than one school/ NGOs for the PixlrEdu Program?</strong>
Sure, you can simply fill up this form to apply for the PixlrEdu program with the respective school/NGO information.
<strong>How long does the PixlrEdu subscription last?</strong>
Once you get upgraded to the PixlrEdu version, this subscription would last for 12 months.
As long as you are still in school/an eligible member of the organization, we believe you deserve a continuing subscription to PixlrEdu Program.
We will do some housekeeping on a yearly basis but as long as you remain active, we’d be happy to extend the subscription.
<strong>How long should I wait until my school is granted with the PixlrEdu subscription upgrade?</strong>
After filling up the form, kindly wait for 48 hours to have your school registered. If you do not hear from us, kindly reach out to education@pixlr.com and our team would be in touch with you.
I didn’t hear back after I filled up the form. <strong>Was my application for the PixlrEdu Program rejected?</strong>
If you do not hear from us, kindly reach out to education@pixlr.com & we’ll iron things out. Please note that we receive a lot of applicants on daily basis and we try our best to attend to your enquiries.
Make sure that after the program form is filled, you have also created a regular account in Pixlr.com so the PixlrEdu subscription upgrade can be granted to your account.
<strong>I have filled up the application form, I have asked my students to create a regular account on Pixlr.com, but they don’t receive the verification code in their email?</strong>
We believe the reason being is because your school domain email blocks external emails. We would suggest you to liaise with your school tech team to whitelist emails from pixlr.com so the verification code can come through your students’ email.
<strong>Can I as the educator create a regular account on behalf of my students?</strong>
In order to be granted with PixlrEdu upgrade, all users should create their own account in Pixlr.com and a verification code would be sent to that email.
Therefore, we would suggest the student create and verify the account individually.
<strong><strong>How many accounts can be granted with this PixlrEdu subscription plan?</strong></strong>
Right now, there are no limitations for granted accounts. You can have your entire school granted and as many accounts as you want, as long as the students and fellow teachers sign up on Pixlr.com using the school domain that you registered for the upgrade.
