This groundbreaking initiative aims to empower teachers across the nation with the knowledge and skills to integrate artificial intelligence into their classrooms, revolutionising the education landscape.
Pixlr aims to train and certify teachers through a series of workshops, where participants will receive Pixlr Certificates of Participation, recognising their enhanced skills in AI. Additionally, the initiative seeks to initiate AI programs in schools by leveraging the Digital Educational Learning Initiative Malaysia (DELIMa) platform, equipping teachers to lead AI projects within their institutions. teachers’ competencies in AI will be a significant focus, enabling teachers to effectively integrate these generative technologies into their teaching practices.
This initiative offers participants direct access to industry-leading expertise that can uplift their knowledge. The main activities include exposure to the latest advancements in AI technology, one-on-one mentorship sessions with Pixlr executives to guide teachers on implementing AI in education, and practical, interactive workshops where teachers can experiment with AI tools and techniques. Pixlr and the Ministry of Education anticipate several positive and impactful outcomes. Teachers will be able to streamline their daily routines using AI, allowing them more time to personalise student engagement. Furthermore, the AI tools will foster a more creative approach for teachers to plan their lessons and delivery, while innovative pedagogical methods will improve student learning experiences.
This AI initiative aims to make a significant impact, with targets including training 500 teachers to be AI Educator-certified, offering RM1,000,000 worth of training and access to tools, and hosting the Pixlr AI Awards 2024, an AI design competition to encourage widespread student engagement and innovation. The tour will span the entire nation, educating both teachers and students on the transformative potential of AI towards our development.

Additionally, Pixlr as the leading AI-powered photo editing tool, proudly announces its feature at Google I/O 2024 as one of the 18 web apps globally supporting Progressive Web Apps (PWAs). This prestigious recognition highlights Pixlr’s commitment to delivering advanced, accessible, and powerful editing tools to users worldwide.
As one of the few apps featured, Pixlr’s inclusion underlines its dedication to modern web technologies. PWAs provide a seamless, near-native app experience, offering users beneficial functionalities directly from their web browsers. This makes Pixlr not only easily accessible but also incredibly user-friendly.
With the introduction of new APIs that enhance installation capability, Pixlr can now be effortlessly installed directly from the web. The newly launched “Add to Chromebook” badge, introduced at Google I/O, enables users to install Pixlr from various platforms, including marketing pages and app listings, significantly boosting its ability to be discovered.
Optimised specifically for Chromebooks, Pixlr’s PWA version ensures a smooth, native-like experience. The app adjusts to different screen sizes, delivering a consistent and high-quality user experience across various Chromebook models. Additionally, Pixlr benefits from integration with Google Play, allowing users to find and install the app easily, while supporting seamless updates and enhanced user management through the Play Store.
Pixlr also leverages the new tabbed mode for PWAs on Chrome OS, which was announced at Google I/O. This feature allows users to multitask more effectively by using tabs within the PWA, thereby enhancing productivity and enabling users to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
The support for PWAs aligns with Google’s vision of making powerful computing accessible for both educational and business environments. Given the widespread use of Chromebooks in educational settings, Pixlr’s accessibility and ease of use make it an invaluable tool for students and teachers, transforming classrooms into creative studios.
Pixlr is committed to staying at the forefront of technological advancements. Ongoing enhancements in Chrome OS and support for new capabilities ensure that Pixlr will continue to evolve, providing cutting-edge features to its users.
