In the age of social media and consuming content night and day, being out of the ordinary can go a long way. These wave-like effects are definitely something that catches our attention online. It\u2019s a great way to switch things up, keep your viewers engaged and also\u2026 impress with your photo editing skills!<\/p>\n<p>So, how can you get started? <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/pixlr.com\/e\/#editor\">Pixlr E just launched our new collection of Creative filters<\/a>.<\/strong><\/span> We\u2019ve named it none other than the <b>Wave<\/b> filter. You might think that the Wave filter can only create edits such as the photo above. That\u2019s where you\u2019ll be floored! We\u2019ll show you exactly how versatile this filter can be.<\/p>\n<p>Not only will you be editing photos like a pro, but it\u2019ll also take up a fraction of the time compared to Photoshop! (The time saved and ease of editing with <b>Pixlr E<\/b> is a <i>huuuge<\/i> factor, if we may say so ourselves).<\/p>\n<p>As a guide, we\u2019ve decided to use a simple photo of clouds and the sky. Our mission is to turn it into something unique, trippy and add movement to it.<\/p>\n<p><b>Check our quick guide below:<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"post-header\">Step #1: Select Your Filter<\/p>\n<p>After you\u2019ve uploaded your image on <b>Pixlr E<\/b>. Click on <b>Filter<\/b>, the seventh icon found on the top bar. There are three types of <b>Wave<\/b> effects to choose from: <b>Round, Triangle, <\/b>and<b> Square<\/b>. Don\u2019t forget to customize the <b>Amplitude, Scale <\/b>and <b>Rotation<\/b> using the adjustment sliders! (+13 Amplitude, +3 Scale and we did not touch the <b>Rotate<\/b> slider.<\/p>\n<p>(But, for illustration purposes. (Of course, we named it <b>Edge Fill<\/b>.) If you\u2019re already satisfied with your edit, you can go ahead to the next step.<\/p>\n<p>But, we\u2019re not 100% satisfied with this yet. So, we\u2019re going to go ahead and pile on another layer of the <b>Wave<\/b> effect. This time, we&#8217;re tuning up a little bit of the <b>Amplitude<\/b> and going harder on the <b>Scale<\/b>. (+5 Amplitude, +4 Scale)<\/p>\n<p>As for the <b>Edge Fill<\/b>, we\u2019re choosing <b>Reflect<\/b> instead of <b>Repeat<\/b>, for a slightly more blending effect.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-13027\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.pixlr.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/2021-08-18_06.jpg\" alt=\"PIXLR Trippy Wave\" width=\"1200\" height=\"540\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pixlr.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/2021-08-18_06.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/pixlr.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/2021-08-18_06-300x135.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pixlr.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/2021-08-18_06-1024x461.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/pixlr.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/2021-08-18_06-768x346.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"post-header\">Step #4: Polish and Perfect It<\/p>\n<p>The last part, and the one we\u2019re all most familiar with: <b>do the touch ups<\/b> <i>(saturation, contrast, etc. You know the drill)<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>For this photo, we moved the slider to a greener hue, reduced the saturation, and adjusted the temperature. These edits can all be done by clicking on <b>Adjustment<\/b> on the top bar.
