How To Change Colors with Pixlr

Step #1

Go to Pixlr's website and select Pixlr E or Pixlr X, depending on your preference. Click "Open Image" to upload your photo from your device, or "Open URL" to import an image via a URL. Make sure the Layers panel is visible.

Hover over to the toolbar on the left side of the screen. In Pixlr E, click on the Brush icon and select "Color Replace Brush" from the dropdown menu. In Pixlr X, click on "Tools" in the bottom toolbar, then click "Replace Color" under the "Retouch" category.

Adjust the brush size, tolerance, and edge hardness to your preference. A larger brush size covers more area, while higher tolerance replaces a broader range of colors. Edge hardness determines the softness or hardness of the brush edges.

Choose the source color by clicking the color box next to "Source" and use the eyedropper tool to select the color you want to replace. Then, click the color box next to "Replacement" and choose a new color, either from the palette or by entering a hex code.

Click and drag the Color Replace Brush over the desired areas of your image. The source color will be replaced with the replacement color. Adjust the settings precisely as needed for optimal results. Once satisfied, save and export your edited image.
